Ojhal Dawar, a postgraduate scholar from Apeejay School of Management (ASM), has recently been conferred with the Best Paper Award and a cash prize of INR 10,000 at the International Conference on Advances in Management Practices (ICAMP 2025). This was hosted by Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS).

The award was presented for her research paper titled “Transforming Recruitment Decisions: A Critical Evaluation Through the Best–Worst Technique,” showcased under the conference theme “Redefining Management in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”

The award-winning study was recognised as one of the most impactful research contributions of the conference, standing out among a diverse pool of national and international submissions from academicians, doctoral scholars, and industry professionals. The paper addressed a critical challenge in contemporary organisations designing recruitment processes that are objective, unbiased, strategic, and future-ready in an increasingly data-driven and competitive business environment.

Reflecting on this achievement, Ojhal Dawar stated, “The research aims to provide organisations with a scientific and ethical framework for recruitment decision-making. In an era where AI and analytics increasingly influence HR processes, structured models like BWM can significantly enhance fairness and strategic alignment.”

The research was conducted under the academic mentorship of Dr. Vernika Agarwal, Faculty of Operations, whose guidance ensured conceptual clarity and methodological rigor throughout the study. Commenting on the recognition, Dr. Agarwal remarked, “Ojhal’s research demonstrates strong analytical depth and practical relevance. The study effectively bridges decision-science theory with real-world HR challenges, offering a framework that organizations can realistically implement.”

The paper received widespread appreciation from conference panelists and industry practitioners for its originality, analytical strength, and alignment with emerging themes such as ethical AI usage, fairness in recruitment, and strategic talent acquisition.

The Best Paper Award marks a significant milestone in Ojhal Dawar’s academic and professional journey and reflects the research-driven academic culture nurtured by Apeejay School of Management. The achievement reinforces the importance of innovative, data-driven research in shaping the future of human resource management and organisational decision-making.
