A retired engineer from the Indian Airforce, Mr. Jai Prakash Mavi didn’t have any second thoughts before enrolling his grandchildren, Hridaan and Hazel at Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad Sector-21 D. He says, “The school is situated near my house. It has been so convenient and hassle-free to send my grandchildren there.” In an interview, he and his son, Dr. Sunny Mavi, who is a Professor at Sudha Rustagi College of Dental Sciences & Research in Faridabad, share their experiences. Edited excerpts from the interview:
How did Apeejay become your first choice?
Mr. Jai Prakash Mavi: My grandchildren, Hridaan and Hazel have been in this school since Nursery. At present, both are completing their middle-school. I can say with full confidence that the teachers work very hard, and this school has good administration and teaching staff. Apeejay has a good reputation in Faridabad.
Did your grandchildren enjoy the online learning experience at the school?
Mr. Jai Prakash Mavi: Yes, but in my view, going to school every day is important. I am happy that they are back to their physical classes now.
Dr. Sunny Mavi (son): In the online learning setup, teachers did their best. My children too tried to extract the maximum from their online classes. Hridaan and Hazel attended their classes regularly and in this time period became more interactive.
What developmental milestones have you noticed in them?
Dr. Sunny Mavi (son): The school has inculcated good discipline in my children. I think it is a huge milestone.
Your advice for fellow parents wanting to seek an admission for their ward?
Dr. Sunny Mavi (son): They should definitely go for it!
