In a solemn and heartfelt tribute, Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar organised a special assembly to honour the legendary scientist and educationist Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, who passed away on April 25, 2025. Widely celebrated for his pioneering role in India’s space and education sectors, Dr. Kasturirangan’s demise marks the end of a historic era.
The event brought together faculty, staff, and students to reflect on the life and contributions of a visionary leader whose work continues to inspire generations. Best known for steering India’s maiden lunar mission, Chandrayaan-1, Dr. Kasturirangan was also the principal architect of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a reformative document that is reshaping the Indian education system.

Apeejay Education shares a special bond with Dr. Kasturirangan, having hosted him as the Chief Guest at the 101st birth anniversary celebration of its revered Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul ji, in 2020. During this memorable visit, he spoke eloquently about the deep alignment between the core philosophy of NEP 2020 and the holistic, value-driven approach to education championed by Apeejay institutions.
Recollecting this significant occasion, the Apeejay community fondly remembered how Dr. Kasturirangan’s words left a lasting impression. He praised the Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul ji, as “an exemplary figure who personified the ideals and ethical foundation that form the backbone of our nation.” Dr. Kasturirangan also acknowledged the leadership of Chairperson Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, lauding her multifaceted contributions to education and social development.

The assembly served not only as a remembrance but also a celebration of Dr. Kasturirangan’s immense contributions to science and education. Attendees revisited his impactful journey—from spearheading ISRO’s remarkable milestones to leading the committee that envisioned a future-forward education policy. A particular highlight of the assembly was the retelling of how his work with Google’s Project Oxygen used data analytics to decode managerial excellence, showcasing his unique ability to integrate science, education, and leadership.
As the Apeejay fraternity paid tribute, it was evident that Dr. Kasturirangan’s legacy will continue to guide educators, scientists, and leaders. His commitment to innovation, ethical leadership, and inclusive learning remains a beacon for the nation.
In mourning his passing, the Apeejay Technical Campus also reaffirms its dedication to upholding the values he cherished. The profound respect and admiration shared during the assembly was a testament to the enduring influence of a truly remarkable life.
