The IT Forum of the PG Department of Computer Science, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, recently hosted its Investiture Ceremony, marking an important occasion where deserving students were formally entrusted with key responsibilities. This annual tradition serves as a platform to acknowledge students’ active participation and merit, while simultaneously preparing them to embrace leadership roles with confidence.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of the College, spoke about the greater purpose of such forums in shaping young minds. She highlighted that the IT Forum is not merely an organisational body but a transformative space designed to foster self-confidence, decision-making skills, and leadership qualities among students. Dr. Dhingra emphasised that when students take charge of forums and events, they not only sharpen their personalities but also cultivate the courage to handle challenges independently in their professional and personal lives.
Encouraging the students, she noted, “If you work for the IT Forum with dedication and sincerity, it will surely give you mental strength and a clear vision to work in the right direction.” Her words inspired the newly appointed members to view their responsibilities as stepping stones toward becoming confident leaders of tomorrow.
The highlight of the event was the formal announcement of the newly elected office-bearers of the IT Forum. Madhusudan and Yuvika were appointed as Presidents; Aditya Bhardwaj and Sabnoor Kaur as Vice Presidents; Tanya Anand and Harkaran Singh as General Secretaries; Charu, Sanya, and Mehtab as Joint Secretaries; and Aashish Kaur and Navkeerat Singh as Treasurers. These students, selected on the basis of their consistent performance and active engagement, were entrusted with the task of steering the forum’s activities for the academic year ahead.
To honour their new roles, the dignitaries present—Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Dr. Rupali Sood, Dr. Jagmohan Mago, and Ms. Pallavi Mehta—presented the forum members with badges, symbolising the trust and responsibilities bestowed upon them. The ceremony was filled with a sense of pride, enthusiasm, and commitment as each student pledged to serve the forum with sincerity.
Dr. Dhingra also took a moment to commend the faculty of the Computer Science Department for their dedicated efforts in successfully organising the event. She acknowledged their guidance in ensuring that such initiatives are not only conducted smoothly but also leave a lasting impact on the students’ overall development.
The ceremony concluded on a celebratory note, with students feeling motivated to take on their new roles with determination and a renewed sense of responsibility.
