“We are born unique. We all have different talents and abilities.” Each student in their education journey must have come across this common saying. As rightly said, every individual possesses unique qualities and skills. The aim of any futuristic-thinking education institute and its teachers/faculty members is to unleash these hidden talents and prepare them for the world beyond the classroom.

With this vision, Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) organised multiple activities to allow its students to unleash their creativity and talent. The institute’s Literary Club organised various competitions such as quiz, debate, graffiti, coin a slogan, best out of waste, mask making, body painting and poetry.

For the quiz competition, AIDians participated in a group of two each. A total of 12 teams were part of this competition. After four qualifying rounds, two teams were declared winners. It was a tight competition among all the teams. The topic for the debate competition was #VirtualIdentity. Many students spoke against the topic and shared their experiences during the debate. The first prize was bagged by a student who spoke ‘for the topic’ and highlighted ‘how virtual identity helped us sail through the difficult COVID-19 period’.

The painting competition spread happiness and a colourful vibe all around the campus. Design students painted on their hands to create ‘Puppets’. For the mask making competition the topic was ‘Tribal’. Participants unleashed their creativity and a few amazing masks and hand puppets were made.

In the ‘Best Out of Waste’ activity, each team of two members applied their innovative minds to use the trash and created out-of-the-box designs. ‘Dreams’ was the topic for the poetry competition. Participants were set free to express themselves in Hindi and English languages. A few heartfelt poems were narrated in the amphitheatre, which were self-composed by the students. Students penned down their creative doodling as Graffiti art that was themed on ‘Typology’.

All the activities brought a lot of dynamics and pumped in enthusiasm among the AIDians as they all expressed and unleashed their best talent while participating in various competitions of the Literary Club.
