A touching celebration to embrace the significant role of educators

In the realm of education, teachers stand as the guiding stars, illuminating the path of knowledge for their students. And therefore, Teachers’ Day is celebrated to express gratitude to these mentors who shape each individual’s lives.

At Apeejay School of Management (ASM), New Delhi, this year’s Teachers’ Day celebration was not just an event; it was a heartfelt tribute to educators and a reminder of their profound influence on students’ lives.

The celebration began with a touching tribute to the late Dean, Prof. Kamal Kishore, whose wisdom and guidance left an indelible mark on the institution. The occasion was marked by a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Dr. Alka Munjal, Director at ASM, signifying the enlightenment that teachers bring into the lives of their students.

The heart-warming cultural extravaganza that followed was a testament to the students’ love and respect for their teachers. The theme of Teachers’ Day echoed throughout the event, underscoring the significance of these dedicated individuals in the journey of learning.

Students showcased diverse performances while captivating the heart of the audience. The event commenced with a soulful Ganesh Vandana that invoked blessings for the day. The solo songs were a melodious ode to the teachers, expressing gratitude and admiration. A mesmerising Kathak dance performance added a traditional touch to the festivities, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of our country. The group dance was a vibrant and synchronised display of talent that enthralled the audience.

What truly touched the hearts of the attendees were the heartfelt poems recited by the students. Each verse was a tribute to the teachers, acknowledging their unwavering support, encouragement, and guidance. These poems resonated deeply with everyone, reminding all present of the profound influence teachers have in nurturing young minds.

The celebration left an indelible mark on both students and faculty. Dr. Shweta Jha, an Associate Professor, expressed her appreciation saying, “It was wonderful and heart touching. Students performed to make us feel special.”

Dr. Preeti Suryawanshi, an Assistant Professor, added, “I was highly touched by the students’ gesture for celebrating Teachers’ Day with great zeal and enthusiasm.”

The event culminated with a joyful cake-cutting ceremony, symbolising the sweet bond that exists between teachers and students. It was a moment of shared laughter and camaraderie, highlighting the warmth and mutual respect within the academic community.
