‘A Perfect Life?’: Poem by Shritika Ugale, Apeejay School, Nerul

A perfect life, they say, is paved with gold,
With riches vast, and treasures to behold.
A house so grand, with every room in sight,
But does it truly warm the soul at night?
Today’s belief, in flashing lights and fame,
That wealth alone can earn you life’s acclaim.
They chase the dream, the cars, the clothes, the show,
Yet miss the simple joys they used to know.
It’s not all wrong, this race for something more,
Ambition drives us, opens every door.
But perfect isn’t found in things we own,
It’s in the love that makes us feel at home.
For wealth is not the money in our hand,
But those who walk beside us in the sand.
A laugh, a hug, a heart that truly cares,
These are the treasures that forever wear.
So, let them dream of riches, that’s alright,
But know the stars that guide us shine so bright.
In love, in kindness, in moments pure and free,
A perfect life is more than what we see.
No need for castles high or gems untold,
For love is wealth, more precious than gold.
