A heartfelt memorial visit blends patriotism with life lessons

In a heart-touching gesture of respect and patriotism, students of Apeejay School, Model Town, paid a solemn tribute to Major Kapil Vinayak by visiting his memorial in Jalandhar. The visit was part of the school’s continued efforts to instil the values of courage, service, and national pride among its learners.

The memorial visit witnessed an emotional and powerful expression of gratitude, as students, accompanied by faculty members, adorned the site with handmade decorations, patriotic symbols, and floral offerings. With hearts full of reverence, they read aloud stirring messages and shared reflections on the indomitable spirit and valour of the late Major Kapil Vinayak, who laid down his life in service to the nation.

The students stood in silence, offering a heartfelt tribute, and collectively sang the National Anthem, creating a poignant moment of unity and pride. Their enthusiasm and commitment were evident in the thoughtful words they wrote, the sketches they made, and the prayers they offered. The event also sparked meaningful conversations among the young participants about sacrifice, duty, and the deeper meaning of independence.

What made the occasion even more special was the warm appreciation received from the residents. Several community members, moved by the young students’ sincerity, gathered to express their admiration. They praised the school’s efforts to nurture patriotism and acknowledged how such tributes keep the memory of India’s real heroes alive.

Such experiential learning offers students a rare opportunity to go beyond the confines of textbooks. By actively engaging in tributes like these, children develop a deeper understanding of national history, empathy for those who serve, and a genuine connection to their country’s values. This initiative empowers students with emotional intelligence, civic awareness, and moral responsibility; skills that form the cornerstone of holistic education.
