Books are more than just printed pages — they open doors to imagination, knowledge, and creativity. In schools, book fairs play a crucial role in nurturing a lifelong reading habit among students. They not only expose children to a wide range of genres and authors but also create an engaging environment that connects learning with joy. Recognising this, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park hosted a vibrant Book Fair alongside a special literary event themed “The Magical World of Harry Potter”. This was organised in collaboration with Scholastic India, celebrating the magic of reading and storytelling in a truly memorable way.

The event transformed the school campus into a lively hub of literary excitement, where students, teachers, and parents came together to celebrate the written word. The fair featured an impressive collection of books for all age groups — from timeless classics and modern fiction to science, adventure, and fantasy titles. Scholastic India’s beautifully curated selection ensured that every reader, whether a budding bookworm or a curious beginner, found something to cherish.

Adding to the festive spirit, the fair wasn’t just about buying books — it was about experiencing them. The highlight of the day was the Harry Potter Character Play and Quiz, presented by students from Classes 6 to 8. Dressed as their favourite characters from J.K. Rowling’s magical world, students brought Hogwarts to life with captivating performances, lively dialogues, and spirited quiz rounds that tested both wit and wizarding knowledge. The audience cheered enthusiastically as young performers showcased not just their acting and literary understanding but also their creativity and teamwork.

Class 6B student of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park Sanskriti Sajwan shared, “I love vocabulary and this fair is a bliss. I am all excited.”

Sharing her thoughts Ms Shruti Kapoor, Librarian, Apejay School, Panchsheel Park highlighted, “This literary event was thoughtfully planned and conducted by the school librarian, with the aim of promoting reading habits among students in a creative and engaging manner.”

She further added, “As a highlight of the event, students performed dramatic monologues  from the Harry Potter books, bringing beloved characters like Harry, Hermione, Draco Malfoy, and others to life. These performances not only celebrated the magic of storytelling but also helped students develop confidence, expression, and a deeper connection with literature.”

“Events like these are essential in today’s digital age, as they cultivate imagination, empathy, and critical thinking. By immersing students in the rich world of books, the school continues to nurture a generation of thoughtful, curious, and enthusiastic readers,” she emphasised.

The event was designed to cultivate a love for reading beyond the classroom. Teachers encouraged students to explore diverse genres, while parents joined in to witness the enthusiasm with which their children engaged in literary activities. The interactive environment inspired students to share book recommendations with their peers, discuss favourite authors, and even pen down their own creative thoughts.

By the end of the day, the corridors of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, echoed with laughter, curiosity, and excitement — the true signs of a community united by the joy of reading. The Book Fair not only enriched students’ literary horizons but also reaffirmed the school’s mission to foster creativity, imagination, and a deep appreciation for the power of books.
