Recently, Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, organised an exciting Inter-house Math Quiz for students of Classes V to VIII. The quiz served as an ideal platform for students to explore their love for numbers while sharpening their reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
The event brought together bright minds from the school’s four houses. Each team comprised one student from Classes V, VI, VII, and VIII. Together, they competed with enthusiasm and displayed great teamwork, making it a memorable experience for all.
Rounds that tested knowledge and speed
The quiz was designed to challenge participants on multiple fronts. The rounds were creatively curated to cover a wide range of topics from the Mathematics curriculum. These included: Profit and Loss, Factors and Multiples, Percentages, Renowned Mathematicians and their Contributions, Logical Reasoning and Geometry, Patterns and Sequences, Arithmetic Operations – Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Time and Money Calculations, Fractions and Decimals, and Important Mathematical Formulas.
Each round tested a different aspect of mathematical understanding, combining speed, accuracy, and strategic thinking. The quiz was not just about finding the right answer, but also about how quickly and effectively a team could respond.

Beyond Numbers: Skills that matter
One of the key highlights of the quiz was how it encouraged essential 21st-century skills among students. It promoted critical thinking, collaboration, and a genuine interest in the subject.
