Nakul Logani, a student of Apeejay School International (ASI), South Delhi, has made his parents and teachers proud by receiving an impressive scholarship of $100,000 from University of Toronto for a period of four years. He will be pursuing Business Management.

“I am very happy with the offer! I sent my application to two branches of University of Toronto: Mississauga and Scarborough. The offer I received from the first one was only $2,000 but a month later, there was another offer from Scarborough and it was a six figure scholarship!” Nakul shared.

Nakul recalls sitting in his Computer Science class when he got the news. “It was very emotional; nobody could speak for a while as it was a very big surprise.”

Talking about his interest in Business Management, he added, “My father is a businessman, and it is through him that I developed keen interest in how businesses work, acquisition, finance, and accounting. That is what motivated me to take up this course.”

Prior to this, Nakul had received several other offers from various renowned universities like University of New Brunswick, University of Calgary, and Simon Fraser University. However, the process of applying and patiently waiting to hear from the institutes was not an easy one. “I felt very anxious and constantly thought about my future. Some universities got back within two weeks while others took longer to respond. I was almost disappointed upon receiving a nominal scholarship from Mississauga. But my parents and I decided to wait before arriving at a decision.”

Being patient and calm is key when it comes to applying for study abroad programmes, Nakul said. “Make sure your application process is perfect. Take the tests at the right time and start applying early,” the student, who scored 7.5 in IELTS exam, added while sharing tips for his juniors.

For now, the meritorious student is excited about beginning his new journey in a foreign country. “My classes will hopefully start by September, so I am eagerly waiting for that.”

Before signing off, he expressed his gratitude to his teachers and parents for being his constant source of support and encouragement. “My father helped me a great deal and I am thankful to him. I would also like to thank my teachers for educating me so well, giving me letters of recommendation (LOR) and supporting me throughout the process.”
