For Dr Geetu Jaiswal, a dentist and proud mother of Nihaan Jaiswal from Class 2 D, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, has been more than a school – it has been a foundation for her child’s growth. From a shy, quiet child to a confident, expressive learner, Nihaan’s transformation reflects the care and dedication of the school’s faculty. In this heartfelt conversation, Dr Jaiswal shares her journey with the school and how it has shaped her child’s early years. Read edited excerpts:
How did your son become a part of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park?
It happened during the COVID period. I hadn’t filled admission forms for any school, and this one was nearby. I applied, thinking it might be tough to get in, but we were lucky. I had heard a lot about the school’s high standards, and I was honestly nervous at first.
Was your child already prepared for school life at that time?
Not really. He had no pre-nursery exposure and was extremely introverted. He couldn’t speak much and was very hesitant. But from nursery onwards, the teachers made him feel so comfortable. Slowly, he opened up, started speaking confidently, and began enjoying learning.
How has his learning journey been so far?
Truly amazing. From reading to writing cursive, and solving maths problems – he picked it all up so naturally. I didn’t even realise when he learned so much. And the best part? There was no pressure at all.
Do you feel the school’s teaching approach suits young learners?
Absolutely. The focus here is on joyful learning. There are no exams till Class 2, just creative worksheets and engaging activities. As parents, we never felt burdened with homework pressure. It’s a big difference from what I’ve experienced before.
What qualities in the school have stood out to you most?
The teachers! Their patience, encouragement, and constant support have helped my son grow academically and emotionally. Thanks to them, he now participates in dance, storytelling, and other activities with confidence.
Would you recommend Apeejay School to other parents?
Without a doubt. This school has given my child a happy and strong start. It’s a place where children truly blossom – academically, socially, and emotionally.
