Black fungus, or mucormycosis, is a complication caused by a fungal infection. This is a relatively rare but potentially fatal condition. It starts from the nose and sinuses. It rapidly progresses to involve the eye, the brain, the lungs and the rest of the body. It is a disease of immuno-compromised people.
