Winning at a competitive platform at a young age is not just about medals — it is about confidence, curiosity and a growing love for learning. This was beautifully reflected when Manvik (Class I-A) and Sattvik (Class V-A) from Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, secured the Bronze Medal and the Regional/State Level Certificate of Accomplishment in the SpellBee International Strategic Language Enhancement Programme.
Their achievement highlights how structured language platforms, along with consistent support from teachers and parents, can help students strengthen vocabulary, spelling skills and self-belief while nurturing a genuine love for language.
For Manvik, a student of Class I-A, the moment of victory was filled with happiness and excitement. “I felt very happy and blessed when I heard my name as a winner,” he shared during the interaction. He enjoyed learning new words, spelling them correctly and understanding their meanings. While some words were “a bit tricky”, Manvik approached them with confidence and completed the challenge successfully. The programme helped him learn many new words and sharpen his language skills at a young age.
An avid reader, Manvik loves storybooks and says that ‘108 Panchatantra Stories’ is his favourite. Encouragement from his teacher further boosted his confidence. “My teacher was very happy and said, ‘Well done Manvik! I am proud of you,’” he recalled with a smile. Clearly enjoying the experience, Manvik is already eager to return to the SpellBee stage. “Yes, I will again participate in the SpellBee because I enjoy it very much,” he said confidently.
For Sattvik, a student of Class V-A, the SpellBee journey became a strong confidence booster. “Honestly, I have gained more confidence in myself. It has made me want to participate in more competitions,” he said, reflecting on how the achievement has motivated him academically.

Interestingly, Sattvik never viewed SpellBee preparation as an additional burden. Instead, he treated it like a game. After finishing homework and playtime, he would practise with his parents through fun quiz-style sessions inspired by popular question-and-answer formats. Even his screen time became productive, as he chose spelling-related videos over entertainment content to improve his skills. He credits his teachers and parents for making learning enjoyable and engaging. “My teachers have never made studies boring. Everything is taught in fun ways,” he shared.
Among all aspects of the programme, spelling rules made the biggest difference for Sattvik. Learning about prefixes, suffixes and silent letters helped him decode unfamiliar words with ease, rather than simply memorising them. Motivated by his school’s balanced focus on academics and extracurricular activities, Sattvik saw the SpellBee International Programme as an opportunity to challenge himself and make his school proud — a goal he has successfully achieved.
