Celebrating student milestones in India plays a vital role in fostering a culture of encouragement and motivation within the educational sphere. Recognising the hard work and dedication of students not only boosts their self-esteem but also instills a sense of accomplishment that transcends the classroom. This act of acknowledgment serves as a powerful incentive for students to continue striving for excellence in their studies and personal growth.
Meet four such students of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg – Namish Khanna, Ridhaan Gupta, Kyansh Jain, and Gunisha Ralhan – who are now in class VI. Their educational journey provides an opportunity for peers to understand the value of perseverance and diligent study.

Namish tells you that since he had put in a lot of hard work in class V, the result was exciting to see. “I have a simple mantra: Study every day and cover the entire syllabus. If it is more; study more. And for this, I have to thank my mother, grandfather, and father for their support and help,” he recounted, whose favourite subject is Math as he loves to solve problems.
He also had a study plan in place that he made before the finals – study at least five to six hours daily. “And my secret is that I am persistent when it comes to academics,” Namish said.

Ridhaan, unlike Namish, had a fixed study plan in place. “I made it a point to study three daily. I was consistent with my academics. Whatever was taught in class, I would come home and revise. And yes, there are a lot of students my age who go out and play but I prefer to spend time studying,” he shared and added that he wants to join his family business.
At home, he shared, it is his mother who helps him study and in school, his teachers play a huge role. “The teachers here are great. They make sure that we understand whatever has been taught in the class. If we are stuck, we can either ask questions immediately or come the next day and get doubts cleared,” Ridhaan said and added his favourite subjects are English and Math.
“I love Math because I find it easy, and English for obvious reasons – it has the least syllabus,” he said and shared his study mantra – when the teacher is teaching in the class, be attentive. “At home, study with full concentration. It is also important to do all the assignments that teachers give and get them corrected on time,” Ridhaan said.

Kyansh said that his mother is the reason for his success in whatever he does. “Studying the year-round also helped. The help that teachers extended whenever it was needed was an added boon. While I do like to play, I prefer to do so at school and spend time at home studying especially Punjabi and English. The latter is very easy to grasp and I love to converse in English. I spend a lot of time reading English novels; my favourite being Matilda. What I like about her is that she has superpowers

For Gunisha, not taking any stress is the secret behind her study mantra. “I also go out and play, even during exam time. Taking small breaks helps keep the mind refreshed. Studying two to three hours daily was enough for me as I revised what had been taught in the class and tried to learn the questions given at the back of the chapter,” she shared.
“Just before the final exams, I would study for two hours and take a break for 10 minutes. The fact that my mother helped me was important. If I got stuck, I would send a message to the respective teacher and ask for help,” Gunisha said and added that doing assignments is an integral part of the study plan.
“I also don’t rote learn. I understand the concept behind everything. This helps to remember the topic easily,” she said in conclusion.
