“Knowledge is power, and quizzes are the spark that ignites the flame of curiosity in young minds.” – This powerful thought resonated deeply during the Dr Stya Paul Memorial Indian Freedom Movement Inter-school Quiz Competition 2025, held recently, at Apeejay School, Nerul. The event served as a tribute to the legacy of Dr Stya Paul, Founder-Chairman, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, and a revered educationist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose vision continues to inspire generations. The quiz aimed to celebrate India’s struggle for independence while encouraging students to delve into the nation’s rich historical heritage.
The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolising the light of knowledge, courage, and freedom—qualities exemplified by the heroes of India’s freedom struggle. This auspicious beginning was followed by a warm welcome address and an introduction to the life and contributions of Dr Stya Paul and Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education, both stalwarts in the field of education and social development.


The quiz competition began with an elimination round, where enthusiastic student teams showcased their knowledge of the Indian Freedom Movement. From this preliminary round, four top teams emerged, moving on to the next stage:
1. Amity International School, Belapur
2. Lokmanya Tilak Public School, Nerul
3. DAV Public School, Airoli
4. Radcliff School, Ulwe
The emcee, with infectious energy and enthusiasm, announced the shortlisted teams, generating excitement and anticipation among the participants and audience.
The core competition consisted of eight meticulously curated rounds, each designed to test various dimensions of knowledge and awareness related to India’s freedom struggle, history, and broader national context:
1. History of the Indian Freedom Movement – Focused on key events, movements, and milestones.
2. Indian National Congress – Explored the evolution, leadership, and role of INC in the freedom movement.
3. Freedom Fighters – Celebrated the lives and sacrifices of notable patriots.
4. Indian Constitution – Tested knowledge on its drafting, framers, and essential provisions.
5. Geography of India – Covered geographical features significant to the movement.
6. Science & Technology in India – Highlighted India’s scientific progress pre- and post-independence.
7. Rapid Fire Round – Tested speed and accuracy under pressure.
8. Audio-Visual Round – Featured images, videos, and audio clips for an interactive challenge.


The quiz was expertly conducted by Mrs Geetha G, Mrs. Amrita P, Mrs Basundhara D, Mrs Ira G, and Mrs Minu P, who collectively served as Quiz Masters. Their deep knowledge, engaging delivery, and smooth coordination ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for both the participants and the audience.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Dy SP Pushpalata Rajaram Dighe, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech. She spoke about the importance of general knowledge, patriotism, and the role of curiosity in shaping well-informed citizens. Her words encouraged the students to pursue learning with passion and to value the freedom that has been hard-earned by generations past.
The competition culminated in an atmosphere of celebration and pride as the winners were announced:
- Fourth Position: Radcliff School, Ulwe
- Third Position: DAV Public School, Airoli
- Runners-Up (Second Position): Lokmanya Tilak Public School, Nerul
- Winners (First Position): Amity International School, Belapur
The victorious teams were awarded trophies and certificates, recognising their hard work, teamwork, and in-depth knowledge.










The Dr Stya Paul Memorial Indian Freedom Movement Inter-school Quiz Competition 2025 proved to be more than just an academic event; it was a celebration of India’s legacy, a tribute to Dr Stya Paul’s vision, and an inspiring experience that rekindled the flame of patriotism and curiosity in every student present.
With its thoughtful structure, enthusiastic participation, and meaningful insights, the event left a lasting impact — encouraging the young generation to not only remember India’s past but also to shape its future with informed minds and proud hearts.
