Apeejay School, Kharghar, is beaming with pride as its young boxers delivered a power-packed performance at the CBSE South Zone II Boxing Competition 2025-26. Hosted at MDN Future School, Lakhani, the event witnessed intense bouts and strong contenders. But our students held their ground and clinched well-deserved medals.

Arsh Pagarkar bagged a Silver medal after a series of tough matches. Sharing his journey, Arsh said, “I felt incredibly proud and grateful. Winning the silver medal was a mix of joy, hard work paying off, and motivation to aim even higher next time. For this competition, I focused on intense training, followed a strict diet, and practised daily with my coach to improve my technique, strength, and stamina for the CBSE Clusters.”

Bronze medalist Arnold Varghese also brought pride to the school. “This was my first boxing tournament, and I was really happy to bag the Bronze. I’ll try my best to win a Silver or Gold next time. I learnt a lot from the match and from watching others compete. Our coach gave us thorough practice sessions and mentally prepared us well. He was also very strict about our diet and weight; he made sure we had enough protein and stayed balanced. He gave us tips and tricks for the matches. Our Principal encouraged us to participate and do our best; I got a lot of support from my teachers, too,” he shared.

Support that made the difference

The coach’s role went beyond the ring. From nutrition to mental readiness, he ensured each boxer was prepared for the challenge. Principal Dr Sonali V Balwatkar also played a key part, inspiring students to participate with full confidence.

This win is a testament to the hard work, discipline, and courage of our students. Their success has set the tone for many more victories to come. The school community is thrilled, and so are the young athletes, already planning for higher podium finishes next year.

Apeejay School, Kharghar, congratulates its boxing stars and looks forward to watching them rise even higher.
