Recently, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar, organised an open event, Cosplay-A Fancy Dress and Talent Show. The theme was ‘Trash to Treasure‘. What followed was a morning filled with colour, laughter, and thoughtful creativity, as young participants confidently showcased their imagination and talent.

The event was organised under the guidance of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education, whose vision continues to inspire such meaningful platforms for children. Present for the function was Dr Mickey Verma, HoD, Dance Department at Apeejay College of Fine Arts.

Children arrived dressed in outfits made from reusable and waste materials. With the help of their mothers, they transformed simple items into striking costumes. Each child spoke about their attire with confidence. They explained the idea behind it and why recycling matters. It was heartening to see such young learners speak with clarity and purpose.

Talent on display

The event was not limited to fancy dress. Students presented solo dance performances, sang songs, and narrated stories. Every act reflected effort and imagination. Their expressions, energy, and stage presence held the audience’s attention throughout.

There were several entries across groups. From each group, the five best performances were awarded medals. Every participant received a certificate and a gift. The joy on their faces said it all.

Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel, Principal, Apeejay School Model Town, addressed the gathering. He encouraged the participants and congratulated the winners. Ms Nidhi Ghai, School Incharge, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar, and the teachers were also present, supporting the young performers at every step.

Beyond the performances, the event carried an important message. Children learnt that creativity can give new life to old things. They also learnt to express themselves with confidence. Events like these shape not just talent but character.
