Young learners reflect on the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev

Recently, Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, observed Guru Nanak Dev Prakash Parv with deep devotion and enthusiasm. The celebration brought together students and teachers to reflect on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, whose message of peace, compassion, and service continues to guide generations.

The day began with soulful prayers and the recitation of shabads, filling the campus with serenity. Dressed in traditional attire, the students carried a garlanded portrait of Guru Nanak Dev and paid their respects with bowed heads. Their heartfelt participation created an atmosphere of devotion and gratitude, reminding everyone of the strength that lies in collective faith and humility.

Lessons beyond the classroom

Through storytelling sessions and devotional songs, children learnt about the key principles that Guru Nanak Dev lived by: Truth, humility, kindness, and equality. Teachers explained how these values could be practised in daily life, helping students understand that faith is not just about worship but about living with honesty and empathy. They also encouraged students to embody these virtues in their interactions with peers, family, and the wider community.

The event encouraged reflection on the importance of harmony in society. The young learners expressed their understanding through thoughtful performances and collective prayers. The celebration concluded with the singing of Satguru Nanak songs, reminding everyone of the timeless relevance of his teachings and the beauty of a life guided by compassion.
