Young learners express their patriotism via creativity and art

The college campus was brimming with thrill and excitement as students at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, recently participated in a series of engaging competitions. Organised under the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme, the competitions were planned and designed by ACFA’s Student Central Association with the support of the Punjab Higher Education Department.

A line of competitions including Reel Making, Rangoli, and Poster Making were designed to raise awareness among students about the national campaign that encourages not only the hoisting of the national flag but also the integration of cleanliness with national pride.

Students expressed their patriotic spirit and commitment to social causes as they participated wholeheartedly in these competitions, using creativity as a medium to feature their thoughts and perspectives. The colourful rangolis, thoughtful posters, and impactful reels brought alive themes like Viksit Bharat, Swachh Bharat, Anti-Ragging, and Har Ghar Tiranga Har Ghar Swachhata.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, in her address, highlighted the importance of such initiatives, saying, “Apeejay College of Fine Arts has always strived to connect students with both
state-and national-level activities.” She further motivated students to engage in such constructive platforms, emphasising how their participation contributes to fostering a positive change in society.

On the theme Swachh Bharat, the top three winners were Akshat Sharma (first), Megha Thakur (second), and Natasha (third). For the Anti-Ragging theme, Ashutosh bagged the first position, Muskaan the second, and Shivalik the third.

The Rangoli competition witnessed vibrant artistic expression, where Mahakpreet Kaur and Amanpreet Kaur jointly secured first place. Niharika Sharma and Vaishnavi Kushwaha won second place, while Keerat with Komal stood third.

In the Reel Making contest, under the theme Har Ghar Tiranga Har Ghar Swachhata, Taranpreet Singh bagged the first prize, followed by Pratham in second place and Yuvika in third. On the theme Anti-Ragging, Srishti won first place, Mahak second, and Santosh third. For Viksit Bharat, Aditya secured the top spot.

Dr. Dhingra extended her appreciation to Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dean of the Student Central Association, for guiding the students and successfully organising such inspiring activities. She expressed optimism that similar initiatives will continue in the future, providing students with platforms to display their talents while instilling social and national values.

Through this initiative, Apeejay College once again reinforced its commitment to nurturing socially responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the vision of a progressive and developed India.
