Engaging young learners in themed activities can have a significant impact on their development, particularly in enhancing motor skills. These activities, often vibrant and filled with various tasks, offer a delightful and educational experience for primary school children.

Beyond fine motor skills, themed days also provide opportunities for children to engage in activities that enhance their gross motor skills. Such days might include group games, dancing, or physical exercises that require coordination and balance. These activities help children develop larger muscle groups, improving their physical health and agility. To inculcate a similar set of skills amongst kids, Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, recently celebrated Pink Day for the students of the Pre-primary wing.

The students came dressed in vibrant pink attire, immersing themselves in the delightful world of the colour pink. The colour ranging from the lightness of cotton candy to the brightness of a flamingo, was explored with great enthusiasm and fun. Nursery to UKG students engaged in various activities to enhance their learning and motor skills. Nursery students created charming pink flowers using a fingerprint activity, while LKG students crafted beautiful umbrellas with a tear-and-paste technique.

The UKG students showcased their creativity by making intricate 3D tulip flowers using origami sheets, combining fun with skill development. All in all the celebration was marked with great fervour, celebrated with innate enthusiasm. Organising activities like Pink Day celebrations in schools is more than just a fun event, it is a strategic approach to enhancing various developmental skills in young children. Schools must continue to incorporate such themed days into their curriculum to provide a holistic educational experience that supports the overall growth and development of primary kids.
