At Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, students are encouraged to voice their ideas with confidence, and this spirit was reflected at the recent Apeejay Inter-School Model United Nations (AISMUN’25), at Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector 15.

Representing the SDG 7 Committee on Clean Energy, three young delegates from Classes 5A and 5C showcased their research, debating, and diplomacy skills. Their outstanding efforts brought laurels to the school with awards across categories.

Vivaan Sejwal:

Vivaan Sejwal (Class 5A) emerged as the Best Delegate. Representing Russia, he said his first MUN experience was both exciting and enriching. “I was very happy and proud of myself when my name was announced. The main hard work was with my parents, who guided me throughout the experience,” he shared. Vivaan prepared by reading the newspaper daily, using Wikipedia for updates, and even experimenting with AI to refine his speeches.

He added, “The most exciting part was learning how to communicate in front of many people while representing a foreign country. I also made many new friends during the debates.” Vivaan hopes to participate in more MUNs in the future and encourages other students to join such forums to showcase their skills.

Aavya:

Aavya (Class 5C) bagged the High Commendation Award, proudly representing Italy. She recalled the effort that went into her preparation, saying, “I wrote down my speeches, took printouts, and practiced reading them many times at home. The words were difficult at first, but repeated practice made me confident.”

For her, the proudest moment was hearing her name announced for an award at her very first MUN. She added, “The most exciting part was speaking and learning something new. I wanted to set an example so that juniors can also believe that they too can achieve success.”

Samaira Chitkara:

Samaira Chitkara (Class 5C) received a Special Mention for her performance while representing South Africa. With the help of her sister, Samaira prepared speeches that highlighted the country’s role in clean energy. “We learned about many countries like Italy, Germany, and more. The best part was gaining new knowledge, even if someone didn’t win a prize,” she said.

For her, the highlight of the event was the opportunity to collaborate and make new friends. “I felt very proud when my name was announced. This experience gave me the confidence to participate in more such competitions.”
