“Learning is an experience, not a destination.”
Class II students of Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, enthusiastically participated in an exciting Flameless Cooking Activity, designed to provide a joyful blend of learning, creativity, and nutrition. The initiative aimed to introduce students to basic culinary skills without the use of heat, ensuring a safe yet enriching experience for all.
The activity began with a brief awareness session highlighting the importance of healthy eating habits, essential food groups, and the role of nutrition in daily life. Guided by their teachers, the young learners prepared a delightful assortment of snacks such as refreshing fruit salads, chatpata bhel puri, coconut sweets, and colourful sandwiches using biscuits and bread. The classroom was filled with laughter, curiosity, and the inviting aromas of fresh ingredients as children explored flavours and textures.

Throughout the session, students actively engaged in chopping soft fruits, mixing ingredients, and assembling their dishes with great enthusiasm. These hands-on tasks contributed to strengthening their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creative expression. The activity also helped students discover new ingredients while gaining confidence in handling basic kitchen tools responsibly.
Working individually as well as in small groups, children showcased remarkable teamwork and communication. They learned to share utensils, follow instructions, and encourage peers—promoting essential social skills like collaboration, respect, and problem-solving. Teachers also reinforced the significance of food hygiene and safety, reminding students about washing hands, keeping the workspace clean, and avoiding food wastage.

The highlight of the event was the tasting session, where students proudly sampled the dishes they had prepared. The joy on their faces reflected a sense of achievement, boosting their self-esteem and motivating them to participate more in everyday household tasks.
This experiential initiative reflects Apeejay School’s continuous efforts to offer holistic, life-oriented learning experiences that nurture curiosity, independence, and self-assurance among young learners.

The flameless cooking activity proved to be a valuable learning experience for students. It helped them understand the importance of nutritious food choices while developing essential life skills such as organisation, teamwork, and communication.
