In today’s educational landscape, the choice of the right school can shape a child’s future significantly. Among the various educational frameworks available, the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme stands out for its holistic approach and global perspective, which made Ms Amena Mubashir, mother of Sanaya Ali, a student of PYP-3 easily make a decision and choose Apeejay School International (ASI) for her daughter.
Read on to learn about this mother’s experience at this school so far
How has been your daughter’s journey at ASI?

She joined from the very beginning, starting in Reception. Her journey has been incredibly fulfilling and highly satisfying. From the outset, the experience has been marked by continuous growth and joy, with each year bringing new challenges and achievements.
So, how does she feel about going to school every day?
It’s truly been a coming-of-age journey for her. She initially had many inhibitions and troubles going to school, but over the years ASI’s love and personalised attention she has received have made a significant difference.
What made you choose an IB school?
The school’s emphasis on discipline and the growth fostered by the IB programme, where each child competes only with themselves, has been very refreshing. This approach has significantly helped my daughter overcome her issues with self-confidence.
What does Sanaya enjoy most in school?
She loves being at school, but her true passion has been art since she was three years old. From a young age, she has been painting and drawing, initially inspired by YouTube videos of a Japanese artist named Serena Art. Under the guidance of her art teacher, she practised and honed her skills even more. This passion for art and craft has kept her away from unnecessary screen time.

What made her build this exceptional art of 3D origami?
We started with simple crafts at home, guided by YouTube videos. As she mastered those, she sought new challenges, continuously improving her skills. She even explored origami with a few books we have at home.
What do you appreciate most about ASI?
You don’t have to excel in everything, just build on what you’re good at. For everything else, there’s support. The school handles my child with such care and patience, always willing to listen and find solutions to any issue, big or small. The personalised attention here is amazing. In a tech-driven world, her focus on creating art is something we value and encourage. The school’s support has been wonderful, never making her feel inadequate if she’s not scoring 100 per cent.
Since you are a doctor, given your busy schedule, how do you spend your time with Sanaya?
Every day, I make sure to drop her off and pick her up from school because I believe those moments are crucial for a parent’s presence. Once I’m home, I focus entirely on being with her, without the distraction of TV or my phone. My presence in her room while she works is what matters most to her.
