Samveet is currently pursuing his post graduation in Corporate Communications & Event Management at the Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC). Driven by a deep curiosity about people—their behaviour, reactions, and opinions—he naturally gravitated towards communication and writing. With over 1.5 years of experience in Public Relations prior to AIMC, writing has been integral to both his professional journey and daily routine. Beyond work, he enjoys singing, using music as a creative outlet to unwind and connect more deeply with his thoughts.
When did you start writing? What inspired you to start this writing journey?
Writing began for me in a very practical way. During my studies and while working in public relations, writing articles, interview responses, trend notes, and industry quotes were all core parts of my daily work. That experience taught me discipline, clarity, and the importance of understanding the audience before communicating.
Gradually, writing became more personal. I realised I often had questions about people, behaviour, and reactions. Many times, these thoughts would come to me unexpectedly, and I started noting them down to revisit later. This habit of questioning and reflecting is what truly inspired my writing journey.

What types of articles do you write about? What inspires you to choose those topics?
I adore writing about human behaviour, psychology, and introspection. In most of my writing ideas, I always draw inspiration from real life experiences, be it conversations, observations, or events that prompt me to pause and think. Personally, I’m more interested in understanding why individuals think or act the way they do, but professionally, my work was driven by industry demands. If a thought stays with me long enough, then it’s likely something I’d like to write about.
Is there a particular time you prefer when writing? How about research before writing any topic?
Mostly, I like writing during less crowded periods, especially late at night when there are minimal distractions and more clarity of mind. The research method to employ varies depending on the topic.
If I want to write something that’s more reflective or opinion based, I depend more on observation and introspection. For something that requires more analysis or factual material, I ensure sufficient research before writing.
What type of topics or books do you prefer reading? Any favourite author?
Reading stuff on how people think, act, their daily routines, also the way they talk – those topics grab my interest. A writer’s name doesn’t stick out much to me; what counts is whether the ideas make sense, feel useful, come across clearly. Fresh pages fill me each day – right now it’s The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg, a book that digs into routines shaping our lives. Soon after, I’ll shift toward Trust Me, I’m Lying from Ryan Holiday, drawn because it peels back how stories twist through media channels. What sticks is how both touch something deeper – the way actions form, repeat, bend under influence.
How are you building your writing skills?
I have been developing my writing ability by practicing and reading regularly with the help of reflection on what I’ve written. My experience in PR has helped me understand structure and audience relevance, whereas on my own time, thoughts flow without rules.I continually review and reflect on my own writing for improvement in clarity and writing style; and I feel like AIMC is providing a good environment for continued development and growth as a writer.
