Excellent communication skills and effective CV building are indispensable in today’s competitive job market. Clear and compelling communication is crucial during interviews, enabling candidates to articulate their strengths and experiences. A well-crafted CV serves as a personal marketing tool, showcasing skills, achievements, and qualifications. Employers often use CVs to shortlist candidates, emphasising the need for a document that stands out. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, ensure professionals can convey ideas convincingly, fostering positive impressions. In tandem with a powerful CV, these skills significantly enhance employability, helping individuals secure opportunities and navigate the complexities of the contemporary professional landscape

Thus, to familiarise the students of School of Legal Studies (SOLS) at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram an introductory session on “Need of excellent communication skills and CV building: A way forward” was conducted by Mr. Kshitij Kumar Singh, Head, Corporate Relations at ASU.

The expert highlighted that just having a thorough legal knowledge isn’t enough. The practice of law is highly dependent on good communication skills, specifically persuasive verbal skills. He further emphasised that communicating effectively with the clients means fostering greater trust in one’s abilities as a lawyer.

Further, students were guided towards gearing up for internships and to convert the same into prospective employment opportunities with top tier law firms. Certain aspects of use of e-library and other prominent legal resources essential to excel in studies were also touched upon. The overall process of appearing in several rounds of interview for securing excellent placements was elaborated at length by the speaker. Brief design to prepare for judicial services was also elaborated by the speaker

Lastly, the session concluded with a Q&A session as well as valuable feedback were received from the students.
