When Dreams Quietly Step Into Reality

Last month, I witnessed a moment that quietly shifted my understanding of dreams and destiny at the launch of Actor Prepares (Delhi). The press conference was held at Saraswati Music School, and I was fortunate to be part of the event management team under Shubhkamnai Events. An opportunity to meet the stars which was made possible because of the guidance and mentorship of Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication.

This was my first experience managing the backstage operations of a press conference, and not just any press conference, but one led by Anupam Kher, a personality I had only admired through cinema until that day. I still remember watching The Kashmir Files and imagining, in my own world of thoughts, what it would feel like to meet him someday. Life, in its most unexpected way, turned that imagination into reality.
My responsibilities involved ensuring that all backstage arrangements were completed before the guests arrived coordinating with teams, checking setups, and making sure everything was in place. When Anupam Sir arrived, followed shortly by Boman Irani Sir, the atmosphere shifted completely. I was positioned at the entrance, handed them the scissors for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and welcomed them as the event formally began.
The press conference unfolded with Anupam Sir sharing the journey of Actor Prepares, from its first Mumbai branch to its expansion in Delhi. Both Anupam Sir and Boman Sir spoke about their experiences with acting stories filled with honesty, learning, and humility. This was followed by a small acting activity where two media professionals were randomly selected, reminding everyone present that acting is as much about presence as it is about technique.
After an engaging Q&A session, multiple media interviews took place, and the event concluded with refreshments. The day wrapped up smoothly, leaving behind a sense of fulfillment and quiet pride.
What stood out most was not just the stature of the people present, but their humility and warmth. From Anupam Sir and Boman Sir to the entire Actor Prepares team, everyone was kind, cooperative, and grounded making coordination effortless and the experience deeply memorable.
For me, this event was more than professional exposure. It was a reminder that sometimes, the people we admire from afar end up standing right in front of us not on a screen, but in real life while we play a small yet meaningful role in their journey.
