What does success mean?

“Success is where preparation and opportunity meet.”

In our day-to-day life, we often hear stories of successful people worldwide, whether they are receiving some accolade or they are doing some philanthropic work. But there also exist some successful people who have discovered or invented something that made our lives way simpler. They are maybe not remembered everyday but whenever they are, they are remembered with respect and admiration. I have often wondered how nice it would be to be successful and known in the whole world. Successful people are often known to millions around the world who admire them. It would be amazing to stand in the height of glory and bask in fame. Frankly speaking, many of them have more dollars in their account than the age of earth.

Yes, success in many fields also means being an independent millionaire. Money and fame are something I have associated with success, which makes it sound pretty attractive. But there is also another kind of success in which the world benefits more than you. Yes, I am talking about scientists. Many of them invented great things without which we cannot imagine our lives today. Many also discovered certain things that help in carrying out research today and are quintessential. But how many of them were millionaires? True, they received many coveted awards, but many did not cross paths with money and fame. Still, they would be called successful. So, I feel, success should be defined as the point in your life when your hard work bears fruit, and that fruit is recognised and applauded by the world.
