Welcoming Lord Ganesh with dance, devotion & a green pledge

Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the most cherished festivals in India, celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles and the symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. At the Pre-primary department of Apeejay School, Pitampura, this spirit of festivity came alive on August 27, 2025, as the young learners immersed themselves in prayers, music, dance, and meaningful reflections to honour Lord Ganesha.

The special assembly began on a warm and cheerful note, with teachers and students extending a heartfelt welcome to all. A short talk followed, in which the little ones highlighted the spiritual significance of Ganesh Chaturthi and its deep cultural essence. They spoke about how Lord Ganesh is revered as Vighnaharta, the remover of hurdles, and as the divine guide who blesses devotees with knowledge, wisdom, and prosperity. This set the tone for a celebration that was as enlightening as it was joyous.

Adding to the festive charm, the children presented a vibrant dance mashup that brought alive the enthusiasm of the occasion. Their coordinated moves and cheerful expressions filled the atmosphere with energy and excitement. The performance was followed by an action song, Ganpati Bappa Aa Rahe Hain, which had the entire gathering swaying to its rhythm. The joy on the children’s faces was a true reflection of the devotion in their hearts.

The spiritual fervour reached its peak with the soulful chanting of the aarti Jai Ganesh Deva. The collective voices of students and teachers resonated with devotion, creating an atmosphere of serenity and divine connection. This sacred moment united everyone in reverence, reinforcing the true essence of the festival.

In keeping with the school’s emphasis on values and awareness, the students then took a meaningful pledge for eco-friendly celebrations. They promised to avoid harmful materials and promote sustainable practices, highlighting the importance of celebrating festivals without harming the environment.

The celebration concluded with an inspiring address by the Principal of the school, Ms Veena Goel. She lauded the students for their heartfelt performances and commended the teachers for nurturing in them a sense of cultural pride and responsibility. She also emphasised the importance of blending tradition with modern values such as environmental consciousness.

The Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at Apeejay School, Pitampura thus became more than just a festive occasion; it was an enriching experience that instilled devotion, joy, and responsibility in the young learners.
