Vice Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram bestowed with “Global Peace and Tolerance Leadership Award”

Adding another feather of achievement,  Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurgaon, Dr. (Prof.) Vijay Vir Singh, has been recently awarded the “Global Peace and Tolerance Leadership Award”.  The award was given by His Excellency Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh, the Governor of Uttarakhand on the occasion of the 20th World Peace Congress organised by the International Association of Educators.

Apeejay Stya University was chosen among 5 Universities from 1400 entries.  Dr. Vijay Vir Singh, an accomplished academician, and researcher, possesses an extensive academic experience of over 37 years. Under his leadership, the Apeejay Stya University, a seat of global learning that offers rich opportunities for innovative teaching-learning, creativity, and research across disciplines, is striding stronger.

Dr. Vijay Vir Singh expressed, “I am reminded of the words of our Founder Chairman Dr Stya Paul wherein, he said, “It is not a disgrace if dreams are unfulfilled, but it is, if we have no dreams to dream!” He also urged that in pursuit of your dreams your academic excellence should be complimented with human values to enable you to attain excellence that gives you peace and happiness too. Firmly believing in this philosophy, I today urge the young to dream big and work towards fulfilling their dreams with empathy, positive mind and compassion while attaining academic excellence.”

He further added, “Negative competition and conflict will just result in unhappiness and may not help in the long run. Pursuit of aims with positive human values will definitely get you your place in the sun combined with individual peace and true happiness, which in turn will transform into you radiating the same peace and happiness in your society that will translate into peace for the nation and in turn nurtures global peace.”
