Using AI as a student: Helpful or harmful?

We hear this word every day. Al created images, Al created text, and Machines etc. We use many AI like ChatGPT. Gemini, Grok and many more, but before moving on, why Al is both useful and harmful for us let us understand what Al is.

What is AI?

Artificial Intelligence, or Al is a field of computer science that focuses on creating systems capable of performing tasks that usually require human intelligence. So technically, Al is a computerised helper or assistant; the first Al chat box came around 1966. Now, let us move forward and see how Al is harmful and helpful for students.

Usefulness of Al

As a student of Apeejay School, Kharghar, I used Al many times to understand my doubts and look deeper into a topic as I learnt about the British colonial era in India. I got curious and used AI to learn what if the British had not come to India? What things did they do in India? Al is also helpful to make notes, quizzes, flashcards, and all like I used it to understand my chapter from science, keeping time with skies but there is also a harmful side to it. 

Harmfulness of AI

Al is also caused loss of critical thinking in students recently me and my friend took lead in a SST group project and we asked everyone to make their parts without using Al but still we found that half of my teammates are using Al so many students to get free they use shortcuts and eventually ending up doing no work them self technically our brain is like a iron if we do not maintain and use it for long time it will rust away so personally i think that Al should be used but in a balanced amount.
