In the humdrum of life, the potential to maintain a  positive attitude is key. It’s because it fuels resilience, boosts mental well-being, and enhances problem-solving. A positive mindset helps individuals face challenges with confidence, fosters better relationships, and creates a ripple effect of motivation. It transforms setbacks into learning experiences, making success more attainable and life more fulfilling.

Thus, realising the crucial role of positivity, Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram recently organised an enriching Spiritual Discourse on the ‘Power of Positivity’ by Swami Shantatmananda Maharaj Ji, a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Institute of Values, Gurugram and a revered spiritual leader.

The event commenced with welcoming Swami Ji by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh followed by an auspicious lamp lighting ceremony and a Bharatanatyam performance by Mishti Yadav, a student of the School of Biosciences, who offered a divine Ganesh Vandana through classical dance.

The gathering was formally welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, who highlighted the “relevance of spirituality and positive thinking in the lives of young learners and educators”. He also announced the starting of a new value-added course on Vivekmarg from the coming session in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Institute of Values, Gurugram.

Swami Shantatmananda Maharaj Ji then delivered a profound discourse on the Power of Positivity, emphasising “the spiritual foundations of optimism, inner strength, and mental well-being”. He urged students and faculty to cultivate a positive mindset through discipline, self-reflection, and service to others. His inspiring words touched upon the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and the ideals of Vedantic philosophy.

An engaging interactive session (Q & A) followed, coordinated by Dr. Vijay Kumar, where students and faculty sought answers to life’s deeper questions, making the session highly interactive and insightful.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Ritika Rasal from the School of Education, expressing gratitude to Swami Ji, the esteemed guests, faculty, students, and organising team.

The event witnessed the gracious presence of Dr. Renu Batra, Advisor, Higher Education, Apeejay Education; Mrs. Poornima Vohra, Education Officer, Apeejay Education; Dr. Pardeep Kumar, Registrar; Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal, Dean Student Welfare; Dr. Vyas M.S., Director, CIRAL; and Prof. Ananda Padhan, Head, School of Education, who lent their support and encouragement to the initiative.
