Unleashing creativity through a healthy competition

Healthy competitions amongst students are a great option that requires students to research, analyse, and present information, thereby enhancing their knowledge and intellectual abilities in various subjects. Presentations, debates, and other competitive formats help students improve their public speaking, articulation, and persuasion skills.

For the same, Apeejay School, Tanda Road organised an Intra-class PowerPoint Presentation Competition for the students of classes VII and VIII. This competition emerged as a grand success, marked by enthusiastic student participation that showcased impressive creativity and technical skills. 

This annual competition provided a platform for young minds to express their ideas and hone their presentation abilities, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and intellectual growth.

Students poured their hearts into their presentations, applying a variety of transitions and animations to enhance their visual appeal. The intensity of the competition reflected the students’ dedication and hard work, as they strived to outdo one another with their innovative ideas and polished presentation skills. 

The topics chosen for the competition were thought-provoking and diverse, challenging students to delve into complex issues and present their findings effectively. The topics included:

• AI: Mind or Machine? This topic prompted students to explore the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence, debating whether AI systems possess the potential for independent thought or remain mere extensions of human programming.
• Biodegradable Plastic: Friend or Foe? Here, students examined the environmental impact of biodegradable plastics, weighing their benefits against potential drawbacks, and discussing their role in sustainable living.
• Cyber Security: Protecting Yourself in the Digital Age Students delved into the critical issue of cyber security, offering insights into how individuals can protect themselves from digital threats in an increasingly connected world.
• Comfort Food: The Warm Hug We Need! This topic allowed participants to explore the emotional and psychological aspects of comfort food, analysing why certain foods provide a sense of solace and well-being.
• Lost in Feed: How Social Media is Impacting Our Ability to Remember Students investigated the effects of social media on memory and cognitive functions, presenting research on how constant exposure to information feeds might influence our capacity to retain and recall information. 

The competition highlighted the students’ abilities to research, analyse, and present complex topics effectively, showcasing their proficiency in using modern presentation tools. Their presentations were not just informative but also engaging, demonstrating a deep understanding of the subjects they tackled.
