It is imperative to preserve our Mother Earth. When nature is protected it provides its inhabitants with clean water, purified air and healthy soil. A healthy ecosystem regulates the climate, recycles nutrients and provides sustainable food. However, often we notice that inhabitants themselves do not hesitate to destroy nature. And this causes a negative impact on the overall environment. Therefore, it’s critical to respect Mother Earth to secure resources for future generations.
Aligned with this thought, Apeejay School, Kharghar recently organised a field trip to the Rock Garden in Nerul on the theme ‘Plants.’ The visit was organised for the pre-primary students to make them understand the importance of nature.
During the visit, teachers encouraged the children to plant more and more trees and experience its beauty. The tiny tots touched the plants and understood about its various parts such as leaves, stem, flowers, fruits, etc.

The field trip encouraged them to make green friends, which makes this planet a better place to live in. The main idea of this trip was to broaden their understanding about plant life and how it can benefit the living creatures.
With their curiosity kindled, the children spent a fruitful day in the lap of nature. Further, the playground and toy train added a flavour to their excitement. The visit was a validation of how experiential learning can help to widen the kids knowledge about nature.
Basabdatta Barui, Pre-Primary Coordinator at Apeejay School, Kharghar said, “Outings are more fun, when we can savour them through the children’s eyes.”
