Children need the freedom to appreciate the infinite resources of nature with their hands, eyes and ears. The exposure to these resources forms their being and makes them aware about materials, sounds and colours.
Recently, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld in Jalandhar organised an excursion to Buddha Park. At the park, students learned the importance of observation and patience. Further, they understood their responsibility towards nature, its flora and fauna.
Ms Nidhi Ghai, Headmistress who accompanied the students says, “This excursion was necessary to provide students experiential learning. The kids witnessed different parts of plants, understood the varieties and learned on-ground. They can now connect to what they learn in the curriculum.”
Each month the school adopts new themes to engage students. The entire curriculum has been designed and divided into ten such topics.
“90 students were part of the excursion and were accompanied by teachers and staff. Besides, learning the basics about nature and plant life cycle, these learners got a chance to bond, share and spend time with each other. In addition to this, they were advised not to pluck the flowers and take good care of their environment,” added Ms Ghai.
