Ruhaan Dang, a student of Apeejay School, Model Town, is the find of the week. One look at his mesmerising artwork and can vouch for his bright future in art. But let us not praise him enough just yet, let all his talents blossom in good time first.
Selected as this week’s Aspiring Artist, Ruhaan shares with us his artistic vision and what more we could see from his brush in the coming days. Read edited excerpts:

Since when have you been drawing?
I was always interested in art and craft and have been drawing since the age of 3. Art is my passion.
And which art form is your favourite?
My favourite art forms include traditional artworks like Art Nouvelle and Patachitra.
That’s great! But how does your school support you as an artist?
My school always helped me to give my best in the field of art. The teachers and classmates encourage me so much. I feel loved at school.
What is art to you?
Art is something a person conveys through his/her emotions. My art is also what I think and what I choose to tell others through colours.
How much time does it take you to complete an artwork? What are the common ideas and themes?
Usually, for a painting, it takes me about 3-7 days. Other works can be done in about 2-3 days as well.
Any upcoming artworks?
I am working on a Patachitra artwork of three paintings that are based on the Trimurti – the holy trinity in Hinduism.
One new art form you wish to learn?
I would definitely love to learn sculptures. That has always interested me.
And finally, other hobbies apart from art?
Besides painting, I am fond of reading novels.
