At Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, the Junior KG learners recently took part in an engaging classroom initiative – the Threaded Treasures Activity. The colourful session was filled with excitement as children worked with threads and shapes, exploring creativity while building essential skills for their early years.
Developing Fine Motor Skills
Threading exercises are much more than a playful pastime. As children carefully moved strings through holes, they strengthened their finger muscles and hand coordination. These small yet significant movements play a vital role in preparing young learners for writing, colouring, and other academic tasks that demand control and precision.
The activity also encouraged children to slow down, observe carefully, and complete the designs step by step. Teachers noticed that as the little ones threaded patiently, they built concentration and perseverance, qualities that will benefit them in both classroom learning and daily life situations.

Building Early Mathematical Understanding
Beyond motor control, the activity offered a hands-on introduction to shape recognition and spatial awareness. By threading around circles, squares, and triangles, the learners began connecting play with early mathematical concepts. This not only enhanced their cognitive skills but also sparked curiosity about patterns and sequencing.
Each child proudly displayed their completed designs, weaving imagination into every creation. Such experiences boost self-expression, creativity, and confidence, showing children that they are capable of achieving tasks independently. For young learners, these small accomplishments become building blocks of lifelong self-belief.
Joyful Learning at Apeejay
At Apeejay School, Faridabad, activities like Threaded Treasures reflect the institution’s commitment to holistic education. The focus is on making learning enjoyable while ensuring children pick up valuable skills at every step. Through play-based methods, the school creates opportunities for learners to grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually.
The Threaded Treasures Activity was not merely about threading strings. It was about weaving patience, creativity, and confidence into young hearts and minds—treasures that will guide them throughout their learning journey.
