Children’s Day is not just a date on the calendar; it is a vibrant reminder of the boundless energy, creativity, and potential that children bring to the world. Celebrating this day in school fosters a spirit of joy, unity, and inspiration, helping students understand their importance in shaping the future. At Apeejay Svran Global School, Children’s Day was celebrated with immense enthusiasm, bringing together students, teachers, and staff in a spirited assembly that highlighted the significance of this special occasion.
Celebrated on November 14, 2024, the event marked the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Independent India’s first Prime Minister, who was a strong advocate for children’s welfare. The school’s Principal started the celebrations by addressing the students, emphasising Nehru’s love for children and his belief in them as the true wealth of the nation. She reminded everyone of the importance of nurturing the next generation and the role they play in shaping the country’s future.
“Children are the foundation of the future. They are the hope of tomorrow, and the promise of a better world,” Ms Rohini, class teacher, shared.
The assembly continued with a series of delightful performances by teachers, including motivational speeches, poems, and songs that filled the air with cheer and positivity. The students were particularly thrilled by the fun-filled games and activities, which added to the day’s excitement. Activities like tongue twisters, a ping-pong ball challenge, and a pyramid-building contest kept the students engaged and laughing throughout. Pre-primary students had their own set of special activities organised just for them, ensuring that even the youngest members of the school had a memorable experience.
As the celebrations concluded, students were given sweets as a symbol of joy and innocence, leaving them with cherished memories of a truly fun and meaningful Children’s Day.
