Apeejay School, Pitampura, proudly secured accreditation from the British Council for its exemplary execution of the Recognition of International Dimension in Schools (RIDS) Project 2024-25. This prestigious honour reflects the school’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement. It reinforces its dedication to maintaining high educational standards while fostering a global perspective among students. The achievement underscores the institution’s efforts to integrate international best practices, preparing students for a dynamic and interconnected world.
The British Council accreditation is a prestigious recognition that highlights the school’s dedication to high-quality education and global engagement. It reflects our commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching approaches, and preparing students with essential skills for the 21st century, shared Ms Smita Sharma, Social Science Teacher, Apeejay School, Pitampura.
“Earning this accreditation means our school meets rigorous international standards, ensuring that students receive an education that equips them for success in an increasingly interconnected world,” she said and shared key aspects of the RIDS Project 2024-25.
The RIDS Project 2024-25 was a dynamic initiative designed to enhance global awareness, critical thinking, and teamwork among students. Key elements of the project included:
· Interdisciplinary learning: Students engaged in projects that blended different subjects like science, mathematics, language arts, and social studies, making learning more integrated and practical.
· Global citizenship: The project encouraged students to explore global issues, develop empathy, and appreciate diverse cultures and perspectives.
· Collaboration and teamwork: Through group activities, students built essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, and leadership.
To ensure smooth execution, the school took the following steps, Ms Sharma said.
Provided training and support: Teachers were given the necessary tools and guidance to seamlessly incorporate the project into their teaching.
Set clear goals and expectations: Establishing well-defined objectives ensured everyone involved worked towards a common purpose.
Created a supportive learning environment: We encouraged students to experiment, take risks, and learn from their mistakes in a space that nurtured growth and curiosity.

This accreditation, according to Ms Sharma, strengthens the school’s global standing in multiple ways.
“The British Council accreditation serves as a mark of excellence, showcasing our commitment to top-tier education and innovation. The recognition also paves the way for new collaborations, partnerships, and cross-cultural interactions for students and reinforces our school’s status as a leading institution, attracting passionate students, educators, and collaborators,” the educator explained.
For students, this recognition offers numerous advantages. First, it expands their global perspectives. Engaging with diverse global topics helps students develop a broader understanding of the world. Second, it boosts career prospects. The skills gained through this initiative prepare students for success in a competitive, globalised job market. Third, it encourages lifelong learning. By fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability, students develop the mindset needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
“I would like to thank the management of Apeejay School, our Principal and Vice-principal ma’ams for their unwavering guidance and support, without which this prestigious award would not have been possible,” Ms Sharma said.
