Choosing the right education for a child is one of the most important decisions a parent can make, as it shapes their future and overall development. Meet Srushti Parhar, mother of Akshaj Parhar, student of Class IX. For us, Apeejay School, Nerul, has been nothing short of a home away from home. My child feels incredibly comfortable and supported here. The exceptional teachers go above and beyond, making a lasting impact, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice, shares the mother.

How do you feel about being in the Apeejay family for so long?
I feel great! The experience has been excellent, and the teachers are truly wonderful. Their dedication and supportive approach make the learning environment even more enriching and enjoyable.
Any specific activity your child enjoys while learning at school?
Yes, he actively participates in almost everything! His main focus is on singing during school events and functions, along with public speaking. He enjoys being on stage and engaging in activities that allow him to express himself confidently and creatively.
Which subject does he enjoy the most and find most interesting?
Interestingly, he has a deep fascination for History — it might seem unusual to some, but he genuinely enjoys exploring and delving into historical knowledge. Alongside his academic interests, he also loves participating in declamation competitions. I believe these events should be held more frequently, as they provide a fantastic platform for him to express his ideas and develop his public speaking skills.
Since you are working, how do you spend time with your son?
I left my job when he was born to dedicate my time fully to him during his early years. When he reached Class IV, I decided to resume my career. By then, he had grown independent enough to manage things on his own. Despite my work commitments now, we still prioritize spending quality time together. He wakes up very early, and during breakfast, we enjoy at least 45 minutes of meaningful chit-chat. It’s our special time to share thoughts and experiences.

Who is responsible for overseeing and supporting his academic progress?
Although he studies independently, I step in to guide and support him whenever needed. He doesn’t attend any tuitions, as he is quite responsible and manages his studies on his own.
What guiding principles do you follow when it comes to raising and nurturing your child?
I strongly believe in encouraging him to explore and try new things. He needs to discover his interests and develop a well-rounded personality. My philosophy is simple — whatever you choose to do, do it wholeheartedly and to the best of your ability.
