This school hosted October hues by celebrating India’s festivals

The students from classes X-E and X-F at Apeejay School, Noida recently hosted a memorable event that highlighted the rich and diverse culture of India through the lens of its vibrant festivals. The special assembly titled October Hues: A Celebration of India’s Festive Tapestry aimed to foster an understanding of India’s cultural richness and how it reflects the spirit of unity in diversity.

The Chief Guest, Ms Neelam Semwal, was greeted with enthusiasm. The event was also graced by parents from both classes, who were the special invitees, making the occasion even more special. The day started with a warm and heartfelt prayer, setting a positive and celebratory tone for the assembly.

According to Ms Poonam Mittal, TGT Social Science, October Hues is more than just a celebration of India’s festive spirit. “It’s an opportunity to educate, enlighten, and empower our youth about the significance of our cultural traditions. By organising this special assembly, we promote cross-cultural understanding, creativity, and community engagement, ultimately nurturing responsible, empathetic, and globally conscious citizens,” the educator said.

Speaking about their experience, Dakshita Sharma of X-E said: “October Hues made me feel proud of my Indian heritage and traditions.”

Manya Balaji (X-E) shared that it was amazing to see everyone come together and celebrate our diversity.

Sidharth Agarwal X-E said, “I learnt so much about different festivals and traditions that I didn’t know before.”

Sara Singh (X-E) shared, “October Hues helped us understand and respect each other’s cultures.”

“It was a celebration of our differences, and that’s what made it special,” Siya of X-E said.

“Participating in October Hues helped me build confidence and stage presence. I developed my teamwork skills while working on our class performance,” Namaya Pandey X-F added.

Celebrating Indian Festivals through Cultural Performances

The special assembly featured a variety of performances, each beautifully weaving in the essence of India’s major festivals. Saesha Gupta delivered a touching invocation. This was followed by a series of updates – news, weather, and sports – presented efficiently by Shlok Gupta, Krishav Shandilya, and Mishti Sharma, respectively. Priyanshu Srivastava shared an inspiring thought for the day, underlining the theme of unity in diversity.

The highlight of the assembly was the cultural performances. Garvit Garg’s soulful guitar solo was followed by an energetic dance to the tune of Deva Shri Ganesha. Students Annika Tikkha and Maysa Khan captivated the audience with an insightful talk on the significance of Indian festivals. The vibrant dance performance to Chogada set a lively mood, followed by a melodious duet by Udit Aggarwal and Advait Negi.

The energy of the assembly peaked with a thrilling rendition of Rock On by Udit, Advait, Aum Agrawal, Garvit, and Yajat, leaving the audience cheering. The fun continued with an interactive quiz hosted by SU Sreesha and Dakshita. This was followed by more performances, including the graceful Ranjhna dance and lively skits, wrapping up with a grand finale featuring dances to Mauja Hi Mauja and Radha Teri Chunri.

A Day of Celebration and Achievements

The assembly was followed by a prize distribution ceremony, where students were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements. The morning ended with a coffee session where parents, teachers, and students got a chance to interact and celebrate the festive spirit.

The Principal commended the efforts of the students, teachers, and parents, highlighting the importance of a balanced development that incorporates academics, sports, and extracurricular activities.
