‘This school helps children build strong values’

In India, selecting the right school is a crucial decision, as education shapes a child’s future. Today, it is not just about marks; parents look for a school that provides holistic growth.  The same was true for Chandni Khanna when it was time to choose the school for her two sons.

“I have two sons. My elder one passed out this year and is now in college. My younger one, Aradhitt, is in Class VI at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg. What drew us to this school was its legacy. It is one of the oldest institutes and has a long-standing reputation for academic excellence. Another important factor was the school’s focus on holistic development,” she said in a candid interview.

How has your experience with both your sons matched the expectations you had?

It has been satisfying and beyond our expectations. When my elder son joined, he was a pampered child, and settling him was a big task. But the school really helped us. I am genuinely thankful to the teachers and the staff. I owe so much to this school. Apeejay School is like a second home to me.

How is the school supporting Aradhitt’s academic growth and overall confidence?

The school is extremely supportive in every aspect, whether academics or activities. Both my sons are musically inclined; they sing very well. The teachers noticed this and helped nurture their talent. I really appreciate how observant and vigilant the teachers are. They identify a child’s strengths and guide them accordingly.

How would you describe the school’s approach to discipline, values, and character building?

The school genuinely helps children build strong values. Teachers give moral lessons from time to time, not just through academics but through stories and examples that help shape character. They share so much extra knowledge with the children and instil important values. It feels very genuine and heartfelt.

How approachable are the teachers and staff to students and parents?

Very approachable. I don’t think any other school makes this much effort. If we ever need to speak to a teacher and they’re not available at that moment, they make sure to get back to us; after school, during sessions, whenever needed. They are compassionate and always ready to listen. As a parent, being able to talk openly about your child’s concerns is extremely reassuring.

How have co-curricular activities impacted Aradhitt?

The school gives a lot of exposure through various activities. Whether it’s music, sports, or art, they encourage children to participate. Teachers identify the shining stars in every field and provide them with the right platform. In Aradhitt’s case, I’ve seen him become more disciplined, more compassionate, and more empathetic.

What sets this school’s students apart?

Their confidence. And it comes from the holistic nurturing provided by the school. Academics are important everywhere, but at this school, the focus goes beyond books. Co-curricular activities, personality development, and overall growth are given so much importance. Children today really need this balance, and that is what sets them apart.
