Schools support Kindergarten students by providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that encourages early learning through play and exploration. “Teachers here introduce basic concepts in language, numbers, and social skills using interactive activities, stories, and games. Emphasis is placed on developing motor skills, emotional growth, and positive habits,” shares Mahvish Fayaz, whose daughter, Inaaya, studies in Junior KG (JKG) at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park.

Read on to know how collaboration with parents is encouraged to support the child’s overall development.

How are the teachers supporting Inaaya?

We are happy with the kind and supportive nature of the teachers. At this tender age, kids need a teacher who is warm and welcoming, whilst also teaching them discipline, but in a way the kids would absorb it. So happy on that front.

What has she learnt at school?

She has become confident and can speak in front of an audience. She is disciplined enough to listen to the teacher when she is speaking. Her reading and writing skills are improving too.

Why did you choose Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park?

We chose it because of its proximity to our home, which was a key factor. Among the schools she was selected in, this school stood out due to the positive feedback we received from other parents about the school’s environment, teaching quality, and overall reputation.

Is the environment conducive for young children?

Yes, it is. I appreciate the strong emphasis on Indian values, which is important. At the same time, I believe integrating a more global perspective would further enrich the learning experience. Encouraging openness to world cultures alongside our traditions would help children grow into well-rounded global citizens with deep-rooted values.

Are the safety protocols in place?

Yes, I believe the safety protocols are well in place. The school seems to have taken necessary measures to ensure a secure environment for the children. From regulated entry and exit points to staff vigilance and emergency preparedness, everything appears to be thoughtfully implemented to prioritize student safety and well-being.

How is the parent-teacher interaction?

The parent-teacher interaction is very detailed and interactive. Teachers provide comprehensive feedback on the child’s progress, behaviour, and areas of improvement. Regular meetings encourage open dialogue, allowing parents to share concerns and suggestions. This collaborative approach helps build trust and ensures that the child receives consistent support both at home and in school.

Is school like a second home for the kid?

Yes, the school truly feels like a second home for the child. The warm, nurturing environment, caring teachers, and friendly peers make it a place where the child feels safe, happy, and supported. It fosters a strong sense of belonging and encourages overall growth in a comfortable setting.
