Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, hosted its highly anticipated University Fair 2024, marking another successful chapter in the school’s commitment to providing its students with diverse educational opportunities. Held on August 13, 2024, in the AV room of the school premises, the event brought together over 15 distinguished university representatives from both India and abroad, offering a unique platform for students to explore their higher education prospects.
The fair was attended by more than 20 enthusiastic students; all eager to engage directly with representatives from some of the most prestigious institutes. This year’s event featured participation from renowned universities, including Chitkara University, Ashoka University, Trinity College Dublin, IIAD, IIHM, SP Jain School of Global Management, and Flame University to name a few. Each institute presented its academic programmes, shedding light on the various opportunities available across different disciplines, from Liberal Arts to Management to Design.
The fair provided students with invaluable insights into the universities’ academic offerings, campus life, and admission processes. Representatives were on hand to answer questions, provide brochures, and discuss potential career paths, helping students make informed decisions about their future educational journeys. The event also highlighted the global reach of Apeejay School International, with its students considering options both within India and on international platforms.
Organised by the International Centre for Advancement of Education (ICAE), the University Fair 2024 was a resounding success, reflecting Apeejay School International’s commitment to guiding its students towards informed academic and career choices. The fair served as a crucial bridge between students and higher education institutes, fostering a deeper understanding of global education pathways.
“This event is held annually across India and even overseas, primarily for students in classes IX to XII. It aims to bridge the gap between students and their dream universities, offering both filtered and unfiltered information directly from university representatives,” Ms Almas Abid, Managing Director at ICAE shared.
Speaking about the fair, Ms Vrinda Tandon, Regional Manager at Ashoka University said: “This event is invaluable for students, offering them deeper insights and a clearer understanding of their academic choices. There is a common misconception that IB students must pursue higher education abroad. However, Indian universities, including ours, provide an education of equally high quality. Events like these are crucial as they encourage students to explore a wider range of possibilities beyond their initial decisions.”
Attending university fairs is essential for students as it provides a comprehensive overview of their future career paths. With Dublin being the capital of Ireland, it has become an increasingly popular destination for students, particularly given that Trinity College Dublin is ranked as the No 1 university in the country. “These fairs play a crucial role in helping students make informed decisions about their education and careers. They offer valuable opportunities for exploration, regardless of whether the student follows the IB, ICSE, or CBSE curriculum. “This is an excellent way to support students in making the right choices,” the Recruitment Officer for India and South Asia at Trinity College Dublin, said.
Attending this kind of fair offers valuable guidance for students, helping them gain clarity in choosing among various B-schools. It provides detailed information about accommodations and aligns with students’ preferences and aspirations. According to Mr Gupil Kukreti, Growth and Alliance at the University of Living, this represents a significant investment, making careful decision-making crucial.
“For IB students, such fairs simplify the process of selecting an overseas university by narrowing down options and providing insights into application procedures. It is incredibly great to assist students in achieving their dreams and aspirations. In my counseling sessions, I not only discuss their career prospects and associated costs but also ensure they receive comprehensive knowledge about housing abroad and the post-admission process, which can be pivotal for their journey. IB students are of high caliber and deserve the best opportunities available,” Mr Kukreti stated.
At the University Fair 2024, the presence of school teachers facilitators, and Ms Neha Sharma, the Vice-principal of the school was instrumental in the event’s success. Their active involvement ensured that students received valuable insights and support throughout the fair. They assisted recruiters in engaging with students and provided guidance, helping them make well-informed decisions about their future.
“Attending this event has been an incredibly enriching experience. The knowledge shared here is invaluable and will greatly benefit me in the future. It provided a comprehensive overview of what universities seek in prospective students, as well as what students should consider when choosing a university. Currently, I’m considering Krea University, and the counseling I received was exceptional. The representatives guided me thoroughly, helping me make an informed decision,” Anandita, a DP-2 student, said.
Aaditya Nath Mathur, a student of MYP-5 shared that he it truly happy to be at ASI and incredibly grateful to be part of this university fest. “It was fantastic to gain insights and discover the direction of my interests. I also learned about the culture and accommodation options, which cleared up many questions I had. I’m eager to pursue studies in the US or Australia, with a particular focus on diplomacy in international relations,” he added.
The active involvement of parents alongside their children significantly contributed to the event’s success. Not only did students gain valuable insights, but parents and families also became well-informed about the details of studying abroad. This collaborative engagement ensured that both students and their families were equipped with comprehensive information, making the decision-making process smoother and more informed.
“Attending this unique event was a fantastic experience. It provided valuable insight into the choices our children are making for their future. As parents, we never impose our decisions on them and fully support whatever path they choose. Their vision has been clear since they were around 7-8 years old, which is when we decided to enroll them in an IB school. Before they head abroad for further studies, sessions like these are incredibly beneficial. I would give the school an A++ to the school. When we were searching for an IB school, we knew Apeejay School International (ASI) would be the ideal choice,” says Mr Rajesh Dugal, father of Bhavya and Yuvraj, who are at present in MYP-4 and DP-1, respectively.
Overall, the University Fair 2024 was a resounding success, reflecting Apeejay School International’s dedication to guiding its students toward successful academic and professional futures. The event not only broadened students’ perspectives on higher education but also reinforced the importance of making well-informed choices in their academic pursuits.
