Activities centred around themes like the ‘Power of Reading’ are essential for students as they foster a love for literature, enhance critical thinking, and stimulate creativity. Such events promote collaboration and communication skills, while also instilling valuable habits that contribute to personal growth and academic success, shaping well-rounded individuals.
On the same note, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park hosted an engaging assembly themed Power of Reading emphasising the crucial role that reading plays in a student’s academic and personal development. Activities centered around this theme are vital as they foster a love for literature, encourage creativity, and enhance critical thinking skills among students.
The assembly commenced with a warm welcome from the students of class III-D, setting a positive tone for the event. It began with a heartfelt prayer, invoking the blessings of the Almighty for knowledge and wisdom. Following this, the thought of the day was presented, highlighting the significance of reading in our lives, and the word of the day was introduced to enrich students’ vocabulary.
An insightful talk followed, exploring how reading books transports individuals into worlds of imagination, broadens knowledge, and strengthens vocabulary. The assembly also featured a beautiful poem dedicated to the power of reading, captivating the audience with its vivid imagery. A lively skit performed by the students showcased how reading enhances imagination and deepens our understanding of the world around us. To further celebrate the joy that books bring into our lives, the students delivered an energetic dance performance.
Ms Surabhi Joshi, the Principal of the school, praised the efforts of both students and teachers in organising such an enlightening and inspiring event. The assembly was a memorable celebration of the transformative power of reading, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees. In a collective spirit, the students took a pledge to make reading a regular habit, reinforcing their commitment to embracing literature.
