This school brought Krishna’s tales to life

Recently, the Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with a lot of zeal as the students of the school assembled to partake in the festivities. The event was organised school auditorium. A special assembly was performed by the talented students of Akbar House. The assembly was a great manifestation of display that was filled with the exuberance of cultural heritage.

It was an occasion of music, dance, and drama about the birth of Lord Krishna. The performances by the students sent ripples of joy into the air as they conveyed a perennial message about the victory of good over evil. The function started with an eye feast when students, dressed in traditional ethnic wear, came onto the stage. Dressed up as Lord Krishna, gopikas, and childhood friends of Lord Krishna, the students dramatised the ancient tales. The special assembly was a spiritual homage in which every child was playing his or her role with full vigour.

A Journey through Krishna’s Life

A soulful bhajan kick-started the assembly; setting a spiritual tone to the event. Thereafter, the students portrayed various names of Lord Krishna explaining the significance of each with much ease and grace. It ranged from the birth to adulthood of Krishna, the saviour of humankind. Each scene was so well thought out to depict and bring out the depth and wisdom of Krishna’s teachings.

The highlight was the scintillating performances, the Kaliya Daman dance. The dance-drama enactment on Krishna’s defeat of the serpent Kaliya left the onlookers dumbfounded. The performance turned out to be a perfect blend of traditional dance forms and expressive storytelling -something which spoke volumes about the dedication and hard work put in by the students.

The special assembly left everyone present with a strong message that will resonate in the heart of every listener for a long time: “Every moment of life is worth a celebration. The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” This theme was quite laced through the event and brought back the essence to the audience of being thankful and enjoying the moments of life.

As the assembly came to an end, everyone wished each other a Happy Janmashtami. Overall, the programme showed the brilliance of the students and, more importantly, it was an event that was well planned and enacted with esteemed belief in the upkeep and celebration of heritage and culture by the school. With their spirit and devotion, students of Akbar House made it a memorable and inspiring Janmashtami celebration for all.
