Independence Day celebrations provide an opportunity for students to learn about their country’s history, including the freedom struggle, key historical figures, and the significance of being an independent nation, thus it is indispensable for schools to conduct such events. For the same, Rhythms Kinderworld GK II celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day on August 14, 2024, where students, teachers, and staff paid tribute to the nation and freedom fighters of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The school was adorned in the vibrant hues of the National Flag, creating a festive atmosphere that beautifully reflected the spirit of national unity. The children arrived in blue and white attire, symbolising the Ashok Chakra, which represents law and dharm on the flag. This thoughtful choice of colours by the young ones added a meaningful touch to the celebration. The pre-kinders and kinder-kids paid tribute to our freedom fighters by dressing up as iconic figures like Rani Laxmibai and Jawaharlal Nehru.
The event was gracefully hosted by the coordinator of the school, Ms Shivani Nagpal, who ensured the celebration flowed smoothly and with vibrant energy. The highlight of the morning was the flag hoisting ceremony, led by the esteemed school head, Ms Komal Nathani. The ceremony was followed by the singing of the National Anthem, further deepening the collective patriotic spirit.
The Chief Guest for the day was Mr Mudit Jain, a Computer Science graduate, who was previously an IPS officer for the 2015 and 2016 batches before joining the IRS in 2018, where he also served as Joint Commissioner of Income Tax. After six years of dedicated service to the government, he transitioned to the private sector and is now the co-founder of an EdTech company, Sarrthi IAS. His presence added special significance to the event.

Other esteemed guests present on the occasion were Mr Sanjay Rana and Mrs Jyoti Rana. Mr Rana is a committed and respected leader, having served as the General Secretary of the Greater Kailash II Welfare Association (GKIIWA) for the past three years. Their participation and support greatly enhanced the celebrations.
A highlight of the day was when the children united to sing the inspirational song We Shall Overcome. Their sweet voices filled the air with hope and determination, embodying the spirit of perseverance and unity. Following this, our chief guest, Mr Jain, along with special guests Mr Rana and Mrs Rana, addressed our young learners with inspiring words. They emphasised the importance of understanding the values of freedom and unity from an early age and encouraged the children to always strive to be responsible citizens.
Ms Nathani led everyone in a solemn pledge for the country. The Independence Day celebration was a resounding success, leaving everyone filled with a renewed sense of pride and patriotism. The school echoed with spirited chants of Jai Hind! Such celebrations are not just about remembering the past, but also about preparing students to uphold and cherish the values of freedom, democracy, and unity.
