Mastering Physics is often seen as the most challenging part of NEET preparation, but for Riya Vasudev, it was all about consistency and clarity. A dedicated student of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Riya scored an impressive 99.91 percentile in NEET 2025. In this conversation, she opens up about her personal journey of tackling Physics head-on and shares valuable tips for future aspirants aiming to strengthen their grip on the subject. Read edited excerpts:

What helped you the most in mastering Physics for NEET?

The most important thing was solving numericals – every single day. In Physics, practice is everything. I never limited myself to one source. If I came across numericals in any book or paper, I would make it a point to solve them. That really improved my accuracy and understanding.

Were there any specific topics that you found tricky but essential to focus on?

Yes, definitely! Rotational Motion is a very important chapter. It’s vast and can be quite confusing for many students, including me initially. Another topic that took me time to grasp was Thermodynamics. These two require deeper conceptual clarity, so I spent extra time on them.

How should students balance Class 11 and 12 Physics syllabus?

That’s a good question. While Class 12 has more weightage in the exam, I personally found Class 11 chapters to be tougher. So I’d say, don’t ignore either – keep the ratio balanced at 50:50. Each class lays down a crucial part of the foundation.

Any advice on how students should approach Physics preparation daily?

Make numerical solving a habit – like brushing your teeth. Even if it’s just an hour a day, do it sincerely. Physics isn’t about memorising; it’s about understanding and applying. That comes only through regular practice.
