‘This Kharghar School is renowned for its futuristic vision for education and development of students’

Mrs. Shilpa Wankhede is a homemaker and her husband, Mr. Akash Wankhede, is an IT manager. They are proud parents of Anshika Wankhede, enrolled in class 5 at Apeejay School, Kharghar. In a brief interview, Mrs. Wankhede shares how her daughter actively participates in inter-school competitions. Read edited excerpts:

What made you think Apeejay School, Kharghar, would be the right choice for your daughter?

During Anshika’s nursery admission, we were searching for a school that will take care of Anshika like their own kid. We wanted a school that has a good reputation, good culture, and expert teaching staff. We evaluated some schools in Kharghar and talked with parents from different schools and received very good feedback about Apeejay Kharghar. After the interview process and interaction with teachers and the principal, we were convinced that Apeejay Kharghar is the best school for Anshika. It was satisfying all our needs and intentions. We also wanted a school that has a futuristic vision for the education and development of students, and Apeejay Kharghar is renowned for this.

What was the admission process like?

Anshika’s school admission process was offline as it was in the year 2015. The evaluation process was very transparent and progressive. We had got an opportunity to meet the principal of Apeejay Kharghar, and we had a very encouraging, satisfying and motivating discussion with her. We were assured about safety and security of our child. We still remember that moment, we were very excited at that time.

Do you personally interact with the faculty on a regular basis?

Yes, we do attend every PTM and also interact with school teachers whenever we get time. Teachers are very supportive and kind while they answer our queries timely. Teachers are very responsive and provide regular, clear, and correct information.

Tell us what you think about the way teachers conduct classes.

We can see Anshika growing in every class, we can easily imagine the hard work teachers are putting in during the classes. Teachers are taking lots of efforts to clarify the doubts of each student to ensure that every topic is well understood by the students.

The demonstration of certain topics in classes is really innovative and it is really helping Anshika to keep up her excitement and enthusiasm.  And we can feel it daily when Anshika returns home after her school.

Have you noticed any particular improvement in your daughter?

We can see overall growth in Anshika as a student. Not only her manners, etiquette, but her skills are also improving day by day. We feel really happy to mention that Anshika got an opportunity to represent Apeejay Kharghar during an inter-school competition. Also, she is serving as a House captain for over a year now. Apart from studies, all these are very good improvements in Anshika over the last few years.

How well does the school ensure children’s safety and security?

We have seen the school management work during culture program, school picnic, etc., where they cautiously take care of children. Also, the disposal of children after school hours is done very correctly. The work done by each staff of school management toward safety and security is really commendable.

How are the teachers helping students on a personal level?

Here, I would like to mention that last year Anshika’s English teacher asked her and guided her to participate in an inter-school Fabel twist role-play competition, and there Anshika won second prize. All her class teachers are very helpful and guide her to improve as well as become better and better.

How is School helping to enhance the speaking skills of your daughter?

I have observed in Apeejay that every year they conduct various competitions like story-telling, recitation, extempore, etc., and encourage students to participate in them. And for these competitions, they will appoint students to conduct the whole competition. It has really improved Anshika’s speaking skills.
