Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) with great enthusiasm, aligning with this year’s official theme set by the United Nations: “For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment” and the campaign theme given by IWD: “𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.” The event emphasised the urgent need for concrete steps toward gender equality while ensuring that all women and girls are empowered, respected, and included in all spheres of life.
The celebration began with a special initiative where students expressed their admiration for the women who have inspired them by creating beautiful gratitude notes. These heartfelt messages highlighted the immense contributions of women across different domains—whether as mothers, mentors, educators, leaders, or changemakers—reinforcing the importance of recognising and celebrating their impact.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, a series of recreational activities were conducted, including fun games and a spirited musical chairs competition. A remarkable highlight of the event was that all recreational activities were meticulously planned and executed by the male faculty members of the institution. This thoughtful gesture symbolised appreciation, support, and solidarity in accelerating action for gender equality, making the celebrations even more meaningful.
Ms. Kanika Chopra, Assistant Professor in Business Communications, won the Musical Chair competition. Ms. Shikha Sharma, Assistant Professor in Physics , emerged as the winner of the Agility Activity (Balloon Game). Ms. Manpreet, Assistant Professor in Management, secured victory in the Agility Activity (Ball Game). Further, Guess the Personality competition had multiple winners including Ms. Kanika Chopra, Ms. Kiran, Ms. Kavita, and Ms. Arushi.

Speaking at the event, Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, emphasised the importance of this year’s themes, stating, “𝐄𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬—𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
